Part 55: False God in Chains

Now that we've gotten all the eggs again, and beaten Zelenin, we'll check in with the Red Sprite crew for one last time.

Maebe still talks about her dad like before, so we'll skip over that.

Right so, back to Horologium we go...

Well, I guess something "new" here makes sense? Sure, why not.

Skadi, uh, sure is Skadi? She drains Ice, casts Mabufudyne, is weak to Fire and has like 1200HP. She'll Charge sometimes to do extra damage with her basic attack. Boring.

We already know the elevator is broked and ain't never gettin' fixed.

Nothing else is gonna happen until we get to B5F as before, so we'll skip the boring dungeon crawl until we're there.

> You can hear a voice coming from up ahead...

So, Jimenez in this form is mostly the same as before but with a bit of a twist in that he IS a barrier change boss!

But not quite in the sense that normally means. He starts off weak to Ice, but that shifts to Elec, Wind and sometimes even Gun.

Beyond a rotating weakness, and that he resists Gun when he's not weak to it, he has no actual change to his resistances.
His attacks are also all completely identical to the Soil version on the Law route...

Though he deals less damage, and it sure feels like he uses Dark Matter more here.

He has 9000HP here, and always drains Fire. He doesn't decide to drain anything extra when low on HP this time either.

Alright, NOW we can go and get Enemy Search C again and that is Important. Very, very important! It's mandatory for what we're doing next, which is... heading back to Grus. In fact, we're gonna beat up Alilat again...

And this time, we're gonna see what we can do to help out Metatron!

Now that we've agreed to this, the final area in the entire Schwarzwelt is available.

B4F of Grus is only accessible via the second one-way door maze. It's used for this one EX Mission and nothing else...

This is not a place where sons of man should be...
> You can't hear the voice anymore...

The voice is a nondescript other character, but I think it's meant to try and trick you into thinking it's Louisa Ferre for at least the moment? It definitely isn't Lucy though.

Turn back, before you are reduced to a pawn of that arrogant God...
> You can't hear the voice anymore...

I had hoped not to see you as a pawn of God...

If you don't have Enemy Search C here, the Voice says you won't find anything in here and Metatron doesn't speak up. But we have it, so we will find... something. It doesn't appear on the map, but you'll see...

> But you can see no one.

Well, hello there... friend.

> The demon started attacking everything!

its a video link

So, Demiurge is the ultimate example for why Barrier Change Bosses are a bad idea.
He has 20,000 HP and he reflects everything. Everything. Except one element which he sometimes resists and sometimes is weak to.

He switches what that is every time he either does an action or gets hit or something, it's really unclear. Point is, it switches CONSTANTLY and that means Gibo Eyes is a lying liar in this fight. See, it can tell you something will work because it will.

But he's level 99 so he outspeeds you almost guaranteed. Then it doesn't work any more. And the thing you used gets reflected and whoops.
So I just said fuck it and hit him with the power of All The Cosmos approx. 60 times in a row!

He also has a Ton of Skills but none of them are new or unique to him. Well, one KIND OF is but we can use it so I don't count it:

Jihad is a special spell that competes with Riot Gun for the best skill in the game. It costs 80MP, is multitarget, has a base power of 500 and also inflicts Debilitate. It ultimately loses to Riot Gun because of its cost, its Almighty so it can't hit weaknesses and its only available from two demons. Shiva and, uh, the Demiurge.
And he does/can use it here as well, but it's pretty rare and he'd rather buff himself than debuff you for some reason.

He can also use things like Maya's Gates or Mother's Kiss or Disaster Cycle. And since you're probably going to be sensible and use the Dragon Ring, sometimes this happens!

But if you're being sensible, you're going to at some point see Gibo Eyes tell you literally nothing is going to work so you just throw Almighty attacks at him. A lot. He has 20,000HP.

I said that already but I'm going to say it again: he has 20,000 HP.
I fought him twice, he never came close to ever winning either time; this video was the shorter and more interesting of the two. The other one was about 13 minutes long and I did the second easiest way to shutdown almost every boss. Trap him in a loop of casting Dekaja and Dekuda.
It was as exciting as it sounds.

> You can hear a voice from your Demonica.

Turn off your Demonica's search function... Please!
It will make this demon unstable... Then I can seal him away.
Turn your Demonica's search function off...!

I mean, sure, we could do that. Or we could, uh, not. And get a bit of a bonus reward out of this.

It's a Chakra Drop with infinite uses. Nice, but not as broken as folks on GameFAQs insist it is (surprise, surprise) because this is the final optional boss and the only thing left after this is Mem Aleph...

Only get this option if you're Law aligned. That's why I pestered a Goblin a lot while you weren't looking, yes.
And we're absolutely taking him with us. This is special!

This is a catastrophe...
> You can't hear the voice at all anymore...

So, uh, Demiurge is... the highest level base demon at 94. You need to be NG+ to get him normally, his stats are pretty meh to say he has a whole 15 points left to allocate, his resistances are okay I guess? Jihad + Victory Cry is a good combo for randoms at least, I approve there.
His source is the second to give Repel Phys. Alilat is the only other one to do so. Period. Not just fixed, though there is that too. No demon has Repel Phys by default. That one skill is - I am 100% sure of this - the entire reason these guys are NG+ exclusive.
It's almost a shame this is going to be almost a week late, but even belatedly I think we can afford to give Mem Aleph a Mother's Day gift or three. I hope she likes chicken...
